Hello everyone,

My name is Mpingo Waridi Uhuru, which means, “Black rose discovering freedom.” Yet, everyone calls me Ebony. I am a transgendered author of over 27 novels, 200 poems, and 45 original songs. I am confident, loyal, honest, and open minded. I enjoy reading, playing chess, sports, and trivia.

One of my favorite quotes is from legendary comedienne “Moms Mabley.” She said, “If you always do what you always done, you will always get what you always got.”

Her words ring with truth. Although I am currently confined, I strive daily to achieve better things, and continue to elevate. I am a firm believer that the only limits are those that we place upon ourselves.

I am seeking communication with someone who is able to see beyond these walls and who is willing to take this opportunity to get to know me; someone open minded enough to embrace the compassionate and unique individual that I am.

I would like to share one of my favorite poems.

Like waves over rocks

Fluid in motion, ever changing in shape

Flowing over its captivity, easily able to escape

Necessary for survival, sustaining all that is called life

Forgiver or wrongs done, the easier of all strife

Like waves over rocks, so too does love flow

It reaches the highest of heights, connects with the lowest of low

To receive it just ask, it’s really not hard to find

It’s in your own actions, it’s in your state of mind.
